hola amigos! (Hello Friends!)

I am writing this from an internet café in the village. The connection is slow (56k!) but my heart is beating fast!

Life in the Peace Corps has changed me. I have learned to live without material possessions. I weave my own baskets now. But... I really miss electricity and ham.

♥♥♥ THE BIG SURPRISE ♥♥♥

Guess what?! I decided to surprise Mom and Dad! I hopped on a plane and I am currently in Miami for a layover.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE HOUSE!

I know Dad probably has the 7-foot tree up, and Mom has been baking cookies for weeks. I can just picture the roof covered in lights and Frosty standing guard. It's going to be so magical to show Enrique a real American Christmas.

(If the house isn't decorated I think I would literally die LOL. But Dad would never let that happen!)

He is a Peruvian doctor/poet/activist. We have only known each other for 3 weeks but we are in love. He is coming home with me! I hope Dad likes him. Enrique doesn't speak much English, but love is a universal language, right?

  • Mom's Hickory Honey Ham (Obvi!)
  • To see the neighbors (Especially the Frohmeyers!)
  • A hot shower
  • To never eat dried goat meat again
